How can we help?

Scanning & Priority Modes

Summary: Running Scan mode, the four Priority modes, and locking channels out temporarily or permanently.

Running Scan Mode

Press Scan to start scanning every unlocked channel in whichever banks are currently enabled. Toggle banks on and off with the number keys (0-9) – at least one has to stay enabled. Once the normal banks are exhausted, the scanner also checks the Close Call Hits bank if it holds anything and that bank is switched on.

While scanning, press Hold to stop on the current channel, turn the scroll control to step through channels manually, and press Hold again to resume. To jump straight to one channel without scanning, press Hold, enter its number, then press Hold again.

Priority Modes

Func + Pri/1 opens the Priority menu, with four options:

  • Priority Off – priority channels are ignored.
  • Priority DND (Do Not Disturb) – checks each bank’s priority channel every 2 seconds, but only in the gaps between transmissions, so it never interrupts what you’re already listening to.
  • Priority Scan – checks priority channels every 2 seconds regardless, which can briefly interrupt a transmission in progress.
  • Priority Plus – scans only the priority channels in your enabled banks, skipping everything else.

These modes also apply during searching (except in Close Call Only mode).

Locking Out Channels

Locking out a channel that’s constantly busy speeds up scanning by skipping it. While receiving a channel, or while holding on one:

  • Press L/O once for a temporary lockout – cleared automatically the next time you switch the scanner off.
  • Press L/O twice quickly for a permanent lockout – stays locked out even after a power cycle.

You can still manually select a locked-out channel directly by its number. To unlock one, select it the same way and press L/O again; to unlock everything in the currently enabled banks at once, press and hold L/O and confirm.
