AR-DV1 Memory Scan, Pass & Scan Groups

Summary: Scanning memory banks on the AR-DV1, skipping unwanted channels and using scan groups.

Search vs Scan

Scan checks stored memory channels; search sweeps between frequency limits. See AR-DV1 VFO Search & Program Search.

Starting a Scan

From memory read mode (“MEM” shown), press [SCAN]. “SCN” and the bank number appear. Set the squelch to threshold first, or the scan won’t work. Only the current bank is scanned and empty channels are skipped. To change bank, turn the dial or type the two-digit bank number. Press [VFO] to leave scanning.

While scanning: [UP]/[DOWN] or the dial change direction and resume, [ENT] copies the stopped channel to VFO-Z.

Pass (Lockout)

To skip an unwanted channel press [PASS] on it, in memory read or while scanning stopped on it. Press [PASS] again on the same channel to cancel. Locked channels remain in memory but the scan won’t stop on them.

Scan Groups

The setup screen has 10 groups, 0-9 (the manual’s introduction says 20). Press [F] then [SCAN]. For each you can set:

  • Bank link: choose banks to be scanned together. Select the group with the dial or keypad, move down to the bank list, turn the dial to a bank and press [PASS] to link or unlink it, then [ENT].
  • Delay: how long the receiver waits on a channel after the signal ends; OFF, HOLD or 0.1-9.9 s (default 2.0 s).
  • Free (pause): resume scanning after this many seconds even if the channel is still busy; OFF or 1-60 s. Set OFF with [PASS] or by typing 0.
