BCT15X/UBC3500XLT/UBC800XLT Programmer Screen at a Glance

Summary: An orientation to the BCT15X/UBC3500XLT/UBC800XLT Programmer window – what’s on screen, and where the rest of this guide covers each part.

Before You See This Screen

This window only opens for a profile that already exists and has Enable Programming ticked. If you haven’t set one up yet:

  1. Open Connect Settings.
  2. Create (or select) a profile with Scanner System set to Uniden and Scanner Type set to your model – BCT15X, UBC3500XLT, or UBC800XLT – and choose the correct COM port.
  3. Tick Enable Programming for that profile.
  4. Open Programmer, select that profile from the list, and click Open Editor – this brings you to the screen described below.

See BCT15X/UBC3500XLT/UBC800XLT Programmer – Overview & Getting Connected for the full connection walkthrough, and Model Differences – BCT15X, UBC3500XLT & UBC800XLT if you want to know what’s different about your specific model before you start.

The Screen Itself

The window is split into two columns – action panels on the left, your System/Group/Channel hierarchy on the right.

Left column:

Right column – your programming hierarchy:

Three stacked, resizable panels, each with its own Add and Delete buttons:

  • Systems – the top level, each with a Name, Type, Quick Key, Lockout, Hold Time and Delay Time.
  • Groups – belonging to whichever System is selected above.
  • Channels – belonging to whichever Group is selected, with frequency, modulation, tone and more.

Selecting an item at one level filters what’s shown below it. See Editing, Sorting & Deleting for the full rundown of working with this hierarchy. As with Squawker PC’s other scanner guides, the window locks with a progress overlay during a Read or Send, with no Cancel button – see Writing to Your Scanner before your first write.
