Auto-Lockout & Managing Lockouts from the Scan View

Automatic Noise Skipping

Whenever the scanner parks on a channel and Voice detection judges it isn’t actually speech (a carrier, data, or plain noise), that channel is automatically skipped from parking again for 25 seconds — this happens whenever Voice detection is on, with no extra setting needed.

If a channel keeps triggering this repeatedly, tick Auto-lock noise ×N (default 5) to escalate: once a channel has been rejected as noise that many times, it’s automatically added to your session’s temporary lockout list, so it stops being scanned entirely for the rest of the session rather than just being skipped for 25 seconds each time.

Locking Out a Channel Manually

While something’s parked in Standard mode, use the Temp L/O or Lockout buttons in the Now-Listening panel to lock out the current channel directly, without needing to open the Lockouts tab — Temp L/O lasts for the session, Lockout is saved permanently. Either way, the scanner immediately moves on to the next channel.

Lockouts — whether added here, auto-added from repeated noise, or managed from the Lockouts tab — are actively enforced by the scan engine itself and take effect immediately, not just filtered from what’s displayed
