Using the Site Menu – Quick Access, Locked Items & Downloads

Summary: Starring pages into your own Quick access menu, what the padlocked items mean, and the Download button for software.

Quick Access (Favourites)

When you are logged in, each page you can open in the site menu has a star beside it. Click the empty star to add that page to Quick access, a personal dropdown that appears in the menu between Shop and the main sections. Click the filled star to remove it. It updates straight away with no page reload, and there is no limit on how many pages you can star.

Quick access only appears once you have starred something. If a subscription of yours lapses, pages you had starred stay in the list but show a padlock.

Padlocked Items

Menu items you don’t currently have access to are not hidden – they are greyed with a padlock. Click one and a window tells you which subscription unlocks it, with the price and a View / subscribe link. Where several subscriptions would do, they are all listed. Close it with the x, the Esc key, or by clicking outside it.

If the item is also included in Squawker PC, the window says so – some data is available in the Windows desktop app as an alternative to a web subscription.

Software Downloads

Pages offering the Squawker PC or WTRBrowser installers show a button that depends on who you are:

• Not logged in: Log in to download, which brings you back to the page afterwards.
• Logged in without the right subscription: Subscribe, which takes you to the product.
• Subscribed: Download, showing the version and file size.

If the installer is ever temporarily unavailable you will be asked to contact support.
