Live Military Intelligence (Active Mil Membership)

Summary: What the Active Mil membership unlocks — live radio-confirmed military activity across bases, sectors, ranges and refuelling areas.

Live Mil Activity is an exclusive layer available to members with an active Active Mil subscription. Instead of relying only on predicted positions, it shows you what’s actually happening based on real radio transmissions heard on the live UKAFG feed.

Bases and Swanwick Mil sectors “light up” on the map — green, amber, or red — depending on how recently their frequency was heard active. You control how recent counts as “active” with an adjustable window of 5, 15, 30, or 60 minutes.

What’s Included

  • Active Bases — see which military airbases currently have live radio activity.
  • Mil Sectors — the same live-activity view for Swanwick Mil air traffic control sectors.
  • Refuel Areas — tanker activity in Air-to-Air Refuelling Areas, with a 🛢 tanker badge and the live refuelling frequency when a join-up is detected.
  • Ranges — see when aircraft are actively working a danger area, with fast-jet activity specifically highlighted.
  • Active Airspace — danger and restricted areas currently activated by NOTAM, so you can see not just the boundary but whether it’s live right now.

Confirmed Frequencies on Aircraft

Every member’s aircraft panel now checks its Listen on frequency against the live feed: a frequency heard on the feed today gets a chip saying how long ago, and a likely frequency heard more recently than the prediction takes its place. The feed also orders a squadron’s air-to-air and ops frequencies, a tanker’s towlines and a Swanwick Mil sector’s VHF/UHF pair by what was heard in the last 15 minutes, then today, so the panel suggests the frequency that is actually in use rather than the published first one.

Active Mil membership adds the who: the chip and the Active Mil section name the base, unit or service whose frequency was heard, and the panel’s Active Mil section lists every frequency the feed has heard for the aircraft’s squadron, base and service with how long ago.

Members get a real-time picture of military flying activity that goes beyond tracked aircraft positions alone — grounded in what’s actually being heard on the radio right now.
