IC-R8600 Set Mode Reference

Summary: Every SET mode setting on the IC-R8600 with its options and defaults: Tone Control, Function, Digital Set, Display, Time Set, SD Card and Others.

Open with MENU, SET. Touch an item for 1 second and choose Default to reset it. Defaults can differ by version.

Tone Control

• FM: HPF (100-2000 Hz) and LPF (500-2400 Hz) audio filters (off by default), Bass and Treble (-15 to +15, default 0), De-Emphasis for the 50k (OFF), 15k (ON) and 7k (ON) filter widths.
• WFM: Bass and Treble.
• AM/SSB/CW/FSK/digital modes: HPF/LPF, Bass and Treble.

Function

• Beep Level (50%), Beep Level Limit (ON), Beep (Confirmation) (ON).
• SPEECH: Language (English), Speed (Fast), S-Level SPEECH (ON), MODE SPEECH (OFF), SCAN SPEECH (at Receive Pause) (OFF), SPEECH Output for Ext connectors (All), SPEECH Output for Recording (All), SPEECH Level (50%).
• [SPEECH/LOCK] Switch (SPEECH/LOCK or LOCK/SPEECH), [P.LOCK] Switch (ALL or KEY), MAIN DIAL Auto TS (High).
• AFC Limit (ON), [NOTCH] Switch (AM) and (SSB) (Auto/Manual), SSB/CW Synchronous Tuning (OFF), CW Normal Side (LSB).
• Screen Capture [POWER] Switch (OFF), Screen Capture File Type (PNG), Keyboard Type (Full Keyboard), Full Keyboard Layout (English; French on the French version), REF Adjust (calibrates the 10 MHz reference, 0-100%).

Digital Set

Digital Monitor (Auto), Digital Mode Select, RX History Log (OFF) with CSV Format and Date, D-STAR Standby Beep (ON), D-STAR Auto Detect (OFF), RX Record (D-STAR RPT) (All), D-STAR EMR AF Level (20%), Fast Unmute (NXDN) (ON). See IC-R8600 Digital Modes & Receive History.

Display

LCD Backlight (50%), LED Bright (80%), Display Type (A), Meter Peak Hold (ON), Memory Name (ON), Group Name Popup (ON), MN-Q Popup (ON), BW Popup (PBT) (ON), BW Popup (FIL) (ON), RX Popup (Normal), P25 RX ID Display (Dec), Screen Saver (60 min), Opening Message (ON), Opening Comment, Display Language / System Language (English; Japanese is available: if you set English, Japanese characters you entered become garbled until you change back).

Time Set

Date/Time (Date, Time, <<NTP TIME SYNC>>, NTP Function ON, NTP Server Address time.nist.gov), UTC Offset (+0:00).

SD Card

Others

• Information > Version (firmware) and MAC Address.
• Clone > Clone Mode (cancelled on restart).
• Touch Screen Calibration.
