AR-DV1 Specifications & Digital Mode Compatibility

Summary: The AR-DV1’s specifications and which digital voice formats it can decode.

Specifications

  • Frequency range: 100 kHz to 1300 MHz (specifications guaranteed above 530 kHz); cellular blocked on the US consumer version.
  • Analogue modes: FM, AM, SAH, SAL, USB, LSB, CW.
  • Digital modes: D-STAR (GMSK), Alinco EJ-47U (GMSK), Yaesu (C4FM), Digital CR (C4FM), NXDN (C4FM), dPMR (C4FM), P25 Phase 1 (C4FM) and DMR (4FSK).
  • Circuit: direct conversion 100 kHz-18 MHz; double conversion 18-180 MHz (1st IF 393 MHz, 2nd 31 MHz); triple conversion 180-1300 MHz.
  • IF bandwidths: 200 Hz, 500 Hz, 1.8 kHz, 2.6 kHz, 3.8 kHz, 5.5 kHz, 6 kHz, 8 kHz, 15 kHz, 30 kHz, 100 kHz and 200 kHz.
  • Stability: better than +/-2.5 ppm after a 5-minute warm-up.
  • Sensitivity: 530 kHz-17.99999 MHz: 0.71 uV typical (12 dB SINAD); 18-1300 MHz: 0.32 uV typical.
  • Memory: 3 VFOs, 2,000 channels, 40 memory banks, 40 search banks, 1 priority channel, 50 pass frequencies per bank or VFO.
  • Audio: internal speaker 1.0 W minimum into 8 ohm; 3.5 mm jacks for headphone, speaker and discriminator.
  • Recording: SD/SDHC, mono, 19 kHz sampling WAV, about 7 hours per GB.
  • Connection: micro-USB for control; BNC 50 ohm antenna; max antenna input 0 dBm.
  • Power: 10.8-16 V DC, about 750 mA at 12 V. Operating temperature 0 to 50 C.
  • Size and weight: about 178 x 50 x 215 mm; about 1.5 kg.

Digital Voice Compatibility

The manual’s chart is hard to read in the PDF, so check the printed manual for the details. In summary:

  • Supported: non-encrypted D-STAR, Alinco EJ-47U, Yaesu and Digital CR voice; NXDN and dPMR446 in regular mode (NXDN with 15-bit digital scrambling is supported); non-encrypted P25 Phase 1; non-encrypted DMR.
  • Not supported: encrypted signals of any kind, trunked systems, P25 Phase 2, DMR Tier 3, TETRA and other variants shown as not decoded.
