Opening Fast Scanner & Your First Scan

Fast Scanner lives inside the Squawker Connect window, as a Fast Scanner tab — reached automatically when your Connect profile uses “Squawker Fast Scanner,” or via the “Open Fast Scanner” shortcut.

To get started:

1. Open the Fast Scanner tab. A first device profile is already there waiting for you — you don’t need to click “Add profile” just to begin.
2. Its engine starts connecting in the background automatically, and the Radio dropdown fills in with whatever SDR hardware is detected — no click needed for this part either.
3. Choose your SDR from the Radio dropdown. If you’re using an SDRplay device, an Antenna dropdown also appears.
4. Optionally rename the profile, adjust your band range or other settings — or just leave the defaults.
5. Click ▶ START. This is the one explicit action genuinely required — nothing scans automatically just from picking a device. Once started, you’ll see scan activity, waterfall movement, and (if the profile is set to Listen) audio.

To add another radio running alongside this one, click ➕ Add profile and repeat from step 3 in the new tab.
