The Bands Tab – Building Your Own Band List

This tab manages your own editable list of bands — name, Low/High frequency, step, and mode for each — separate from the built-in Ham/Marine/Aviation/Broadcast panel you’ll see in Radio mode, which isn’t editable and isn’t the same list. This one starts pre-populated with ten common starter bands (civil and military airband, several amateur bands, marine VHF, PMR446, and business VHF/UHF), which you can edit, delete, or add to freely.

The Scan Checkbox

Ticking Scan on a row is what feeds Scanner mode’s Channels: Bands sweep option (see Choosing What to Scan) — only ticked bands get swept that way. This tick is per-profile (each device profile has its own set of ticked bands) and saves instantly the moment you tick it.

Buttons

  • Add — creates a new band pre-filled from your current Scanner tab settings.
  • Delete — removes the selected band.
  • Save changes — inline edits to a row’s Name, Low/High, Step, or Mode now save automatically as soon as you commit them, same as everywhere else in Fast Scanner. This button still exists as a manual save option, but you don’t need to click it for your edits to stick.
  • ↺ Reset to standard — replaces the entire list with the original ten defaults, discarding anything you’ve added or changed. This asks for confirmation first, since it affects the shared list used by every profile, not just the one you’re on.
  • ✔ Use band — copies the selected row’s range/step/mode into the Scanner tab as a one-off, ready to scan immediately (see Choosing What to Scan).
