Installing the Map as an App

Summary: How to add the UKAFG Map to your phone or desktop as an installable app.

The UKAFG Map can be installed like a native app, giving you a home-screen icon and a faster-loading, more app-like experience — no app store required.

On desktop (Chrome / Edge):

1. Open the map page.
2. Click the install icon in the address bar (or open the browser menu and choose Install UKAFG Map / Apps → Install this site as an app).
3. Confirm — the map now opens in its own window from your desktop or Start menu/Dock.

On Android (Chrome):

1. Open the map page.
2. Tap the browser menu (⋮) and choose Add to Home screen / Install app.
3. Confirm — an icon appears on your home screen.

On iPhone/iPad (Safari):

1. Open the map page in Safari.
2. Tap the Share icon, then Add to Home Screen.

Once installed, the app shell loads instantly even on a slow connection, though live data (flights, weather, NOTAMs) still needs an internet connection to update.
