AR-DV3 Memory Channels & Banks

Summary: The AR-DV3’s 2,000 memory channels: saving, recalling, editing and deleting.

Layout

2,000 channels = 40 banks (00-39) x 50 channels. A channel holds the frequency, mode, IF bandwidth, a 12-character title, AMP/ATT and optional features (step, step adjust, AGC, option settings, extended squelch and digital selective-receive codes).

Registering a Channel

  1. Press [VFO] and set everything you want to save (frequency, mode, IF bandwidth, step, AMP/ATT, AGC, options, squelch functions, digital codes).
  2. Hold [ENT] to open “MEM. REG.”.
  3. Type the four-digit bank and channel (or turn the dial).
  4. Press [DOWN] and enter a TITLE (optional, up to 12 characters).
  5. Choose PROTECT and press [ENT].

Recalling

Press [SCAN] to enter memory recall (MEM). Type four digits (bank 05, channel 12 = 0512), or [F] then [UP]/[DOWN] to browse banks, or turn the dial/press [UP]/[DOWN] to move by channel. [ENT] copies to VFO-Z. If nothing is registered, [SCAN] just beeps.

Changing a Channel

While a channel is recalled (or a scan is stopped), changing settings such as the mode or IF bandwidth shows “WRITING MEMORY” and overwrites the channel, unless its PROTECT is ON. To change protected channels, or the frequency or title, use Memory Edit ([F] then [8]): enter the bank and channel and change FREQ, TITLE, MODE, IFBW, AMP/ATT or PROTECT, then [ENT]. The MEM screen updates after you move channel.

Memory Bank Titles

Press and hold [F] then [SCAN] for MEM BANK: choose the bank, enter a title and PROTECT. Bank titles only appear in the PC software “AR-DV3 DataUtility”, not on the receiver. With PROTECT on you can’t edit that bank in MEM or SCAN modes.

Deleting

Recall the channel, press [F] then [CLR] (“DEL. MEM. CH.”), press [ENT] and [ENT] again at “DELETE?”. One channel at a time; you can’t delete by bank (use a reset to erase everything). Protected banks or channels can’t be deleted.

Data Editor

Press and hold [F] then [8]: COPY or MOVE a search bank, memory bank or memory channel. Set the source and destination, then press [ENT]. Move deletes the original.
