BCD160DN Reference Tables & How Do I…?

Summary: A quick “how do I” guide plus the band defaults, weather channels, CTCSS and DCS tables and the menu structure of the BCD160DN.

How Do I…?

  • Assign channels: Menu, Program Channel, choose a bank (and name it), Edit Channel, and set a frequency and its settings.
  • Start scanning: press SCAN/srch.
  • Pause and restart scanning: HOLD, then HOLD again.
  • Scan a different bank: press 0-9 to turn off the banks you don’t want; the scanner scans the active ones.
  • Scan the weather channels: Menu, WX Operation, Weather Scan.
  • Create a Quick Search: in Scan or Tone-Out mode press FUNC and SCAN/srch.
  • Create a Custom Search: Menu, Search for…, Edit Custom, choose 1-10 and enter the limits.
  • Search service channels: Menu, Search for…, Service Search, and choose one.
  • Create your own service search: programme your frequencies into a bank named after the service.
  • Set a priority channel: hold on the channel, then Menu, Priority Scan, Set Priority.
