AR-DV3 Configuration Menu, Reset & Firmware Update

Summary: The AR-DV3’s configuration menu, resets, firmware update and recovery.

Configuration Menu (CONFIG)

[F] then [7], choose an item, turn the dial, [ENT].

• BEEP: OFF, 1-7. EQ: audio equaliser preset. COL. SET: display colours. LCD BRIGHT: BRIGHT/DARK. LCD V-POS: -3 to +2.
• KEY LIGHT: OFF, CONT (always on) or AUTO (lights on operation or squelch open; off after about 7 s). KEY COLOR: OFF or one of 6 colours. KEY DIMMER: OFF/ON.
• SQL. SKP: squelch skip for recordings.
• ID: receiver ID for remote control, 00-99. RES. CODE: ON/OFF result codes for remote commands.
• REGION: USA, JAPAN, EURO (F-AU band plan).
• LINE OUT: AUDIO or 12 kHz offset IF (LINE and USB). IF12k AGC: AGC or MAN. IF12k MAN.GAIN: 00-25.
• PROTECT: ON disables last-one memory.
• TETRA ACTIV.: activation for the GSSI selection feature.
• SER, FIRM VER and SYS. UPDATE.

Firmware Update

1. Download the firmware (.DV3) from aorja.com and save it in the AR-DV3 folder on the SD card, not the root.
2. Insert the card, [F] then [7], choose SYS.UPDATE-SET, [ENT].
3. Choose BACKUP, THEN UPDATE (recommended) or UPDATE ONLY, [ENT].
4. Select the firmware and [ENT]. The key lights blink with a progress bar; it restarts automatically.

Back up first and never turn off the power during the update.

Resets

• System reset: with the power off, hold [POWER] while holding [CLR]; release at “Sys. Reset”. Settings reset, memory data stays.
• Full reset: hold [POWER] while holding [CLR] and the SQL knob; release at “Full Reset”. Settings and memory data are erased.

Recovery

If a firmware update fails and the unit won’t start: with the power off, hold [POWER] while holding [9] and [CLR]; release when the key lights blink. After about 30 seconds the lights go off and the clock appears. Press [POWER]; “Recovery” shows on start-up. Then update to the latest firmware.
