How can we help?

The Recordings Tab

Any recording made with “● Record” ticked — in either Scanner mode (one file per transmission) or Radio mode (whatever’s demodulated at your tuned frequency) — lands here.

Folder Setup

There’s one shared main folder for all your profiles (defaulting to Documents\Squawker Recordings if you haven’t set your own), changeable with Browse…. Underneath it, each device profile gets its own subfolder automatically, named after the profile. Use the Profile dropdown at the top of this tab to switch which profile’s recordings you’re looking at — you can browse any profile’s folder from here, one at a time, though there’s no single combined view across all of them. Open folder launches Windows Explorer directly on whichever profile’s subfolder is currently selected, handy if you want to copy, move, or rename files yourself — there’s no rename or export option built into this tab, so Explorer is the way to manage files beyond playing or deleting them.

The Recordings List

Each entry shows When it was recorded, Frequency, Label (whatever station/description was identified at the time), and file Size — newest recordings appear first by default. Column sorting now works numerically for Frequency and Size, so it sorts by true value rather than alphabetically.

While a session is actively running and this tab is open, the list refreshes itself automatically every few seconds as new recordings are saved — you don’t need to click Refresh, though there can be a short lag of a couple of seconds before a brand-new recording appears.

Playback

Double-click any recording to play it, or select it and click ▶ Play. ■ Stop ends playback. There’s no pause/resume, no seek bar, no volume control, and no duration display — playback is simple start/stop only.

One thing worth knowing: recording playback runs independently of your live scanner/radio audio, by design — starting playback doesn’t pause or mute what’s currently being received live, so the two can genuinely play at the same time. If you don’t want them overlapping, pause or stop your live scan first.

Deleting

Select a recording and click Delete to remove it from disk — you’ll be asked to confirm first, since this can’t be undone.
