AR-DV10 Digital Mode Settings

Summary: The AR-DV10’s advanced digital settings: scramble code, DMR slot and colour code, P25 NAC and NXDN RAN.

Opening the Menu

Long press [MODE], choose DIG CONF. Select a line (1-9) with the arrows and [ENT]. Line 1 takes a code from the keypad; lines with a tick use the dial; line 6 (NAC) uses the dial per digit. Activate everything at line 9, DIGI.CONF.

The Lines

  • 1 DCR ENC C.: the 15-bit digital scramble code for D-CR and NXDN (00001-32767; 00000 = none). The AR-DV10 also has scramble-code auto detection: while receiving a scrambled signal, press the key lock key; “D-CR ENC.CODE” with a blinking “?” shows and usually finds the code in 2-3 seconds. A scrambled signal isn’t an encrypted signal; the AR-DV10 can’t decode encrypted signals of any kind.
  • 2 DMR slot: 1+2 (both, priority slot 1), 2+1, 1 only or 2 only.
  • 3-4 DMR COLOR / DMR COL C: ON decodes only the chosen colour code (01-16); code 00 decodes all.
  • 5-6 P25 NAC / P25 NAC C.: ON decodes only the chosen 3-digit hexadecimal NAC (000-FFF); 000 decodes all.
  • 7-8 NXDN RAN / NXDN RAN C: ON decodes only the chosen RAN (01-63); 00 decodes all.

Digital Signal Info Display

For D-STAR the receiver shows some user information by default. Toggle it: long press [MODE], choose DIGI DISP, then DISP ON or DISP OFF.

What to Expect

Digital audio only plays when a valid signal is decoded. A D-STAR call sign may not show until the next transmission header, especially while scanning or searching. Noise can occasionally be mistaken for a digital signal.
