IC-R15 Screen Capture, Opening Picture & Cloning

Summary: How to capture the IC-R15’s screen, set your own start-up picture and clone one receiver’s settings onto another.

Screen Capture

  1. MENU, SET, Function, Screen Capture [PWR] Key, ON. (The file type, BMP or PNG, is chosen with Screen Capture File Type.)
  2. Show the screen you want and push [POWER]. It’s saved to the microSD card (some screens can’t be captured).
  3. To view: MENU, SET, SD Card, Screen Capture View. The latest is at the bottom; rotate [DIAL] to scroll. Push [QUICK] on a file for File Information, Delete or Delete All.

Opening Picture

You can show your own picture at power-on.

  • File: 24-bit bitmap (.bmp), 296 x 222 pixels, name up to 20 characters, up to 100 files.
  • On a PC: copy it into IC-R15 > OpeningPicture on the card, then put the card in the receiver.
  • On the receiver: MENU, SET, SD Card, Opening Picture, choose the picture, push ENT, then YES. The receiver restarts and shows it.
  • To hide it, choose <<Cancel Opening Picture Setting>>.

The picture still shows if there’s no card, and it survives a Partial or All Reset.

Cloning One IC-R15 to Another

  1. On the master: MENU, SET, SD Card, Save Setting (see IC-R15 microSD Card: Backup, CSV Import/Export & SD Card Mode).
  2. Turn the master off, remove its card and put it in the second receiver. Turn that one on.
  3. On the second receiver: MENU, SET, SD Card, Load Setting, then restart.

Don’t turn a receiver off while saving or loading. Voice recordings aren’t part of the cloning data; copy them separately with a PC. The saved icf file can also be edited with the CS-R15 software.
