Quick Fill – Auto-Populating Banks Near Your Location
Summary: Using Quick Fill to automatically build a set of banks near your location, and how it differs from the UBC125XLT/C’s version.
Enter a Postcode (or use your saved location), tick Marine if you want Marine VHF included, and click Quick Fill to automatically populate banks with frequencies near you. The overall idea is the same as the UBC125XLT/C’s Quick Fill, but this model’s version has real differences worth knowing:
- Wider search radii – Aviation covers 40 miles (vs 25 on UBC125XLT/C) and ATC covers 70 miles (vs 50).
- Bank tabs get renamed to match their contents – after Quick Fill you’ll see banks labelled things like “Aviation”, “ATC”, “Marine VHF”, “Ham 2m/70cm”, “PMR/Radio”, “Rescue”, “CB UK”, “Simplex” and “UK Light”, rather than the generic “Bank 1”, “Bank 2” left in place by the UBC125XLT/C’s Quick Fill.
- PMR and Baofeng/FRS/GMRS frequencies share one combined bank here, rather than two separate banks.
- Two extra categories exist only for this model – a “Simplex” bank and a “UK Light” bank (Suppliers/Simple UK Light licences) – made possible by the larger 100-channel banks freeing up room that UBC125XLT/C’s Quick Fill doesn’t have.
- Digital-capable channels get set up automatically – where the source data indicates DMR or NXDN, Quick Fill sets the Digital and Audio columns accordingly rather than leaving them on Search/Analogue, so digital channels are ready to receive without further setup.
Clear All Banks
Clear All Banks wipes every bank back to empty, after asking you to confirm – a clean slate before rebuilding from Quick Fill or by hand.
