UBCD3600XLT Troubleshooting & Reference Tables

Summary: Troubleshooting tips for the UBCD3600XLT, plus the default band coverage, service types, CTCSS and DCS tones, and repeater reverse offsets.

Nothing to Scan

  1. Make sure the Favorites Lists are enabled in Select Lists to Monitor (Set Scan Selection).
  2. Make sure service types are enabled for the channels you want to hear.
  3. If Use Location Control is on, make sure locations are programmed.
  4. Make sure your latitude and longitude are entered with the right hemisphere. The manual assumes north and west (North America). Places in the UK east of Greenwich need E, not W, so check the N/S and E/W toggles.
  5. Make sure systems, departments and channels aren’t avoided.
  6. Make sure the Favorites List, system and department quick keys are enabled.
  7. For Search with Scan, make sure it’s enabled in Select Lists to Monitor, in the Search for menu and for the custom search itself.

Scanning Interrupted

  1. Turn off Priority Scan, or change the Priority Interval.
  2. Turn off Close Call Priority.
  3. Set a longer channel delay.
  4. Set a positive channel delay (a negative one forces a resume).

All Channels Out of Range

  1. Increase your range.
  2. Turn Location Control off for the Favorites List.

When you choose Auto for a channel’s modulation or step, these defaults are used unless you’ve edited Band Defaults. Steps can be 5, 6.25, 7.5, 8.33, 10, 12.5, 15, 20, 25, 50 or 100 kHz, or Auto.
