IC-R15 Programmer Screen at a Glance
Summary: An orientation to the IC-R15 Programmer window – what’s on screen, and where the rest of this guide covers each part.
Before You See This Screen
This window only opens for a profile that already exists and has Enable Programming ticked. If you haven’t set one up yet:
- Open Connect Settings.
- Create (or select) a profile with Scanner System set to Icom and Scanner Type set to IC-R15.
- Tick Enable Programming for that profile.
- Open Programmer, select that profile from the list, and click Open Editor – this brings you to the screen described below.
See IC-R15 Programmer – Overview & Getting Connected for the full walkthrough – it works quite differently to Squawker PC’s other scanner guides, since the IC-R15 doesn’t program over a cable at all.
The Screen Itself
The window is split into two columns – a collapsible Controls panel on the left, and your channel list on the right.
Left column (click the arrow to collapse it for more screen space):
- Scanner SD Card Setup – detects your scanner’s SD card and shows step-by-step instructions for putting the scanner into SD Card Mode. See Overview & Getting Connected.
- Available CSV Files – the list of programming files found on the card, with Import Selected File and Delete Selected File.
- Quick Fill – a Postcode / Marine row with its own Quick Fill button, plus a separate Program Group with Data section (Data Source dropdown, AF Filter/VSC checkboxes, Program Group and Clear All buttons). See Filling Channels.
- Save to SD Card – a Scanner CSV Format dropdown, Save as New File… and Replace Selected File buttons, an Auto backup before replacing checkbox, and an ℹ How to load CSV into scanner button. See Saving to Your SD Card & Loading It Onto Your Scanner.
- Backup – Backup Current Data…, Open Backup Folder, and a list of your saved backups with Load Selected Backup and Delete Selected Backup. See Backing Up & Restoring.
Right column:
- Category & Group Management – a Manage Groups & Categories button and a Filter by Group dropdown for narrowing the channel list below to one group at a time.
- Memory Channels – the main grid, showing every channel with its Group, Category, name, frequency, mode and more. When you’re filtering by a single group, extra buttons appear here too: Add Channel, bulk-fill tools, and sort buttons. See Editing, Sorting & Deleting Channels.
While an operation is running, the whole window locks with a progress overlay – the same pattern used across Squawker PC’s other scanner guides.
