Squelch & Gain

• Squelch — a single threshold (3–25 dB) applying globally; there’s no per-channel squelch setting.
• Gain — tick Auto to let the hardware set its own gain, or untick it to set a manual level yourself.
• ● Record (Standard mode only) — saves a WAV file per transmission, to the folder set on the Recordings tab.

Filters

• Voice detection — when on, the scanner only stops on genuine speech, skipping birdies, data carriers, and plain noise. Its Sensitivity slider trades strictness (fewer false stops, might miss weak voice) against looseness (catches all voice, might grab some noise).
• Voice — an audio-shaping filter tuned to the voice frequency band, separate from the detection above.
• NR (noise reduction) with a strength slider — gentle settings sound more natural, aggressive settings cut more hiss but can sound processed.
• Volume (Standard mode only — Multi mode has no audio, so this control doesn’t appear there).
• Hold (s) — how long to stay parked on a channel after the signal drops before resuming the sweep.
• Max hold (s) — a hard cap on how long the scanner will ever stay on one channel, regardless of Hold.

All of these apply live while scanning — no need to stop and restart after changing them.
