Resetting Squawker PC

The Reset tab has three separate reset buttons, each doing something different. All three ask you to confirm before proceeding, and restart the app automatically once done.

Reset User Data

Clears your personal settings and app-generated files: general settings, user settings, saved scanner profiles, plus the Logs and Cache folders. Your downloaded databases are not touched — you won’t need to re-download any data after this.

Reset Databases

Deletes all downloaded databases (aviation, common, WTR, repeaters, and the rest) along with related state and cache files, forcing a full re-download the next time you launch the app. Your personal settings are not affected — this only clears data, not your preferences or profiles.

Full Reset

The factory-reset option. Removes everything under Squawker PC’s data folder — settings, profiles, logs, cache, and all databases — short of your local encryption key, which is preserved so your account stays linked. Because this is the most destructive option, you’ll get an extra confirmation step before it proceeds. Use this if you want to start completely fresh, or if you’re troubleshooting a problem that a smaller reset hasn’t fixed.
