AR-DV1 Clock, Alarm, Timer & Sleep

Summary: The AR-DV1’s real-time clock, alarms, timer recording and sleep timer.

Clock

[F] then [3], move down to CLOCK and type the date and time in YY-MM-DD HH:MM form, then [ENT]. Power must stay connected; disconnecting it erases the clock and timer settings.

Alarm and Timer

Three independent settings. [F] then [3], choose ALARM/TIMER SET, then:

1. NUMBER 1-3.
2. TYPE: ALARM, TIMER or OFF (default).
3. REPEATS: SINGLE or WEEKLY.
4. Enter the start and end times (MM-DD HH:MM); for weekly, turn the dial to a day and press [PASS] to select it.
5. Next page: SRC (source: VFO-A/B/Z, VFO search, program search bank, memory channel, memory scan bank), ALARM VOL (0 by default) and SQL OPEN (forces the squelch open; default OFF).

An alarm switches the receiver on at the set time and off at the end time. A timer records to the SD card automatically. The alarm icon blinks when active; press any key to cancel an alarm. During a timer recording, all controls except [CLR] are disabled; hold [CLR] for two seconds and press [ENT] to cancel, with the recording saved.

Sleep Timer

[F] then [0], choose 0 (off), 15, 30, 60, 90 or 120 minutes and press [ENT]. “S” blinks. Don’t press the volume knob while it’s active.
