How can we help?

Automatic Program Updates

Every time you launch Squawker PC, it checks — after you’ve logged in — whether a newer version is available. You don’t need to check for updates manually.

What You’ll See

  • If an update is available, you’ll get a prompt asking whether to download and install it now.
  • If your current version is no longer supported (a rare, forced case), you’ll be told the version is no longer supported and asked to update — declining will close the app, since that version can no longer run.

How It Updates

Click Yes and Squawker PC downloads the update in the background with a progress indicator, then installs it automatically and silently, closing and reopening itself once done — you don’t need to click through an installer manually in the normal case.

If an automatic install isn’t possible (for example, a permissions issue), Squawker PC falls back to downloading the installer to your Downloads folder and opening it in Explorer so you can run it yourself.

After an Update

Program updates also refresh your local data — so after updating, expect the app to redownload its datasets on the next launch (see Automatic Dataset Updates) rather than reusing the old copy.
