AR-DV1 Memory Channels & Banks

Summary: How the AR-DV1 stores its 2,000 memory channels, and how to save, read, edit and delete them.

Layout

2,000 memory channels in 40 banks (00-39) of 50 channels (00-49), plus one priority channel. Location “1234” means bank 12, channel 34. Each channel holds a frequency, mode, step and a title of up to 12 characters. Data is kept in EEPROM, so no battery backup is needed, and the VFO data is saved automatically at power-off.

Storing a Frequency

  1. In VFO mode set the frequency, mode and so on.
  2. Hold [ENT] for two seconds. The next vacant channel is offered.
  3. Type the four-digit bank and channel.
  4. Enter a title (optional, up to 12 characters).
  5. Set protect ON or OFF with the dial (ON prevents overwriting).
  6. Press [ENT] to save; [CLR] aborts.

Titles are typed with the keypad: each key cycles letters, digits and symbols (for example 1 gives A, B, C, 1; 0 gives + – * / and a space); [CLR] cycles backwards, [UP] deletes one character, hold it to delete all, and the dial moves the cursor. Allowed characters: A-Z, 0-9 and [ ] _ | , . + – * / and space.

Memory Read

From VFO mode press [SCAN]. Type the two-digit bank and two-digit channel then [ENT], or use the dial. Changing the mode or step while reading automatically updates the stored channel; turn protect ON if you don’t want that. Press [VFO] to return.

Copy, Move and Delete

  • Delete: in memory read press [F] then [CLR] and confirm with [ENT] (protected channels can’t be deleted).
  • Copy or move channels, banks and search banks: [F] then [8] for the data editor (COPY/MOVE SRBK, MEMBK, MEMCH; the original is on the left of the arrow and the destination on the right).

Backing Up

Memories can be saved to the SD card as CSV: see AR-DV1 SD Card: Recording, Backup & Restore.
