Filling Scan Lists – Quick Fill, Program List & the Data Dropdown

Summary: Using Quick Fill to build a full set of scan lists near your location, or Program List to fill one list with a chosen category.

Quick Fill

Enter a Postcode and click Quick Fill to automatically stage one scan list per category: Aviation, Marine VHF, Ham 2m/70cm, PMR analogue, Baofeng/FRS/GMRS, and Fireground/Rescue – each named with a short 3-letter code (AIR, MAR, HAM, PMR, FRS, RES). In Transceiver mode, Quick Fill also adds an Amateur Repeaters list (REP), with transmit offset and access tone worked out automatically from each repeater’s details. Running Quick Fill again replaces each category’s channels with a fresh set rather than piling up duplicates.

Program List – The Data Dropdown

For more targeted control, select a category from the Data dropdown (or Currently Selected, which uses whatever’s ticked or selected on the main window), select the scan list tab you want to fill, and click Program List. If that list already has channels in it, you’ll be asked whether to overwrite them or add the new ones alongside what’s already there.

Nothing Reaches Your Radio Until You Write

Quick Fill, Program List, and adding channels by hand all only change what’s staged in Squawker PC – none of it touches your radio until you click Write to Radio. Feel free to experiment and adjust before committing.

New List & Clearing

Scan lists with nothing in them are hidden from the tabs until you need them – click New List to reveal the next unused one (up to all 24) if you want to build one manually rather than through Quick Fill or Program List. Clear List empties just the selected list; Clear All Lists wipes every list after confirming – useful for starting over completely.
