Editing, Sorting & Deleting Systems, Groups & Channels
Summary: Adding, editing and deleting Systems, Groups and Channels, and the one bulk-edit tool available for this family.
Every level works the same way: an Add button creates a new entry with a sensible default name, editing is entirely inline in the grid, and a Delete button removes whatever’s selected after asking you to confirm – deleting a System takes its Groups and Channels with it, and deleting a Group takes its Channels. Unlike the SDS100/SDS200/UBCD3600XLT family, there’s no multi-select delete here – each grid only works with one selected row at a time.
What Each Level Holds
- System – Name, Type (see the trunked-systems note in Overview & Getting Connected), Quick Key, Lockout, Hold Time, Delay Time.
- Group – Name, Type, Quick Key, Lockout.
- Channel – Name, Frequency, Modulation, CTCSS/DCS, Priority, Lockout, Attenuator, Alert.
Capacity Limits
Each model has its own ceiling on total Systems, Groups per System, Channels per Group, and total Channels – Squawker PC warns you if you try to exceed one. These limits genuinely differ between BCT15X, UBC3500XLT and UBC800XLT – see Model Differences if you’re planning a large channel set and want to know your specific model’s limits before you start.
Bulk-Editing Hold Time & Delay Time
Click the Hold Time or Delay Time column header on the Systems grid to reveal a dropdown of preset values – picking one applies it to every System at once. This is the only bulk-edit tool in this family; there’s no bulk lockout toggle or bulk quick-key reassignment.
