Quick Fill – Auto-Populating a Full Set of Favorites Lists Near Your Location
Summary: Using Quick Fill to build a whole curated set of Favorites Lists near your location in one go, and Clear All to start over.
Quick Fill works from the same Postcode field and Marine checkbox used elsewhere in Squawker PC, but rather than filling a single bank, it can create up to eleven separate, ready-named Favorites Lists in one pass – each one only gets created if data was actually found for it:
- Aviation – airports and national aviation frequencies within 100 miles.
- Ham – 2m/70cm and ISS frequencies.
- Ham Repeaters – FM/DMR/NXDN repeaters within 25 miles.
- Handhelds – Baofeng/FRS/GMRS frequencies.
- Marine – only created if the Marine checkbox is ticked.
- PMR – PMR446 analogue channels.
- Rescue – fireground, Polycon and mountain rescue frequencies.
- CB – CB UK, CB CEPT and CB Import channels.
- PMSE – outside broadcast frequencies.
- Low Power Devices – LPD433.
- Simple/Supplier Light – Simple Site, Simple UK Light and Suppliers Light licences.
- WTR – DMR/NXDN/conventional business radio within 15 miles.
If you already have Favorites Lists set up, Quick Fill asks whether you want to clear them first – this is optional, not forced, so you can choose to add to what you already have instead. When it finishes, a summary tells you exactly how many Favorites Lists, Systems, Departments and Channels were created.
Clear All
The Clear All button next to Quick Fill wipes every Favorites List, System, Department and Channel currently in the editor, after asking you to confirm – useful for a genuinely clean slate before a fresh Quick Fill or a manual rebuild.
