Export Settings – Configuring Where and How You Export

Click Export Settings to configure how exports behave. There’s a Global section, plus an identical trio of settings repeated for each export format.

Global Settings

  • Default Export Folder — where exports go if a format doesn’t have its own folder set.
  • Prompt for Rename — when on, you’ll get a normal Windows Save As dialog to choose the filename and location each time; when off, exports save automatically without asking.
  • Open Folder After Export — automatically opens the destination folder in Explorer once an export finishes.

Per-Format Settings

Each export format (CSV, Excel, SDR# XML, SDRPlay S1B, Uniden HPE, UBC125XLT, Radioscan, Whistler, CHIRP, Alinco) has its own:

  • Folder — overrides the global folder just for that format.
  • Prompt Rename — same idea as the global setting, but per format. (Note: SDR# XML doesn’t offer this option — it always saves automatically.)
  • Open Folder — same idea as the global setting, but per format.
  • Disable — hides that format’s button from the Export Panel entirely, if you never use it and want a shorter list.

How the Folder Is Chosen

At export time, Squawker PC checks: your per-format folder (if set) → your global Default Export Folder (if set) → a fallback of Desktop\UKAFG Exports (created automatically if needed). If it falls back to Desktop, rename-prompting and auto-opening are switched off for that export regardless of your saved settings.

There’s no option here to change filenames, add headers, or adjust per-format details like decimal places — those are fixed by the format itself (see Exporting to Files).
