AR-DV10 Safety, Care & Legal Notes

Summary: The safety points from the AR-DV10 manual.

General

• Use only the supplied power adapter. Unapproved adapters may cause smoke, fire or battery damage.
• Don’t listen to earphones at high volume; reduce it if your ears ring.
• Waterproofing (IPX5) needs the flexible antenna, battery pack, belt clip and all rubber covers firmly attached and the pack dry. If the battery has been wet, dry the contacts before refitting. After a drop or if it’s been opened by an unauthorised person, waterproofing isn’t guaranteed.
• Don’t operate it while driving.
• Clean with a soft dry cloth; never alcohol, benzene or harsh solvents.
• Don’t leave it in direct sunlight or where the temperature is below -10 C or above +60 C.

Lithium-ion Pack

Don’t short the terminals (careful in pockets and bags), expose them to liquid, charge or use a wet pack, open, impact or solder the pack, or expose it to over 60 C (such as in a hot car). Use only the supplied AOR pack and adapter. Expect about 300-500 charges, then recycle it correctly through your dealer or local scheme.

Antenna

The RF stage is very sensitive: use an attenuator with a strong external antenna, and keep the maximum input at 0 dBm.
