AR-DV10 Loading Frequencies From Squawker PC & Squawker Online

Summary: How to get Squawker frequencies into an AR-DV10, and what isn’t supported.

At a Glance

• Squawker PC’s Connect panel and Scanner Programmer don’t support the AR-DV10. No live logging or direct programming.
• Squawker PC has no AR-DV10 export, and neither does Squawker Online. The “Radioscan” export is for AOR’s Radioscan software and isn’t designed for the AR-DV series.
• The AR-DV10 backs up its memories to CSV files on the microSD card and restores them from CSV, and AOR says the files can be edited on a PC and uploaded. The manual doesn’t document the columns, so the route below relies on working out the layout from a backup. (The USB port is for command control only, and no AOR software is supplied.)

A Practical Route

1. Back up first: long press [REC] > BACKUP > MEM CH. (and SYSTEM). Copy all the files to your PC, because a new backup overwrites the old one on the card.
2. Store a few test channels, back up again and open MEMCH.CSV in a spreadsheet: that’s the layout the receiver expects.
3. In Squawker choose your data and use a CSV or Excel export (Exporting to Files – What Each Format Does and The Export Panel). Squawker PC can export the frequencies and names.
4. Copy the frequencies, modes and names into the template, keeping the same columns and formats.
5. Save it as .CSV on the card (up to 8 ASCII characters in the name; the receiver recognises the type of file) and restore it: long press [REC], [ENT], choose the file, [ENT].

This is untested by us: try a small file first, and remember a restore overwrites the stored data.

Things to Check

• Limits: 2,000 channels (40 banks x 50) and name tags to fit the entry limits.
• Range: 100 kHz-1300 MHz.
• Modes: AM for airband, NFM for most other voice. There’s no auto step: check each channel’s step and use step adjust where needed (see AR-DV10 Tuning Step & Step Adjust).
• Digital: DMR, NXDN, dPMR446, P25 and D-STAR work unencrypted; TETRA is direct mode only.
