AR-DV10 Tone Squelch, DCS & Descrambler

Summary: Selective squelch and the descrambler on the AR-DV10.

CTCSS and Reverse Tone

The squelch opens only if the chosen tone is present. FM mode with 6 or 15 kHz IF bandwidth only.

  1. [MENU], [ENT], VFO EDIT, [ENT].
  2. SQL TYPE: choose CTCSS (or RTN for reverse tone).
  3. Press [ENT], then choose the tone (OFF, SRCH for auto-detect, or a value).
  4. Save with VFO PARAM SET. “CTC” or “RTN” shows.

Reverse tone does the opposite: it closes the squelch when the tone is present and stays open for others (mainly Japan).

Not Working?

If “CTC” or “DCS” is on the display and there’s no sound, turn tone squelch off. See AR-DV10 Troubleshooting & Specifications.
