AR-DV10 Priority, Offset & Signal Attenuator

Summary: Priority reception, offset reception, the signal attenuator and AGC on the AR-DV10.

Priority Reception

While you scan, search or monitor, the receiver briefly checks one memory channel and stays on it if it’s active. It’s excellent for watching a distress frequency. Clicks are normal. It pauses while you type a frequency.

  1. [MENU] > MEM > PRIO > [ENT].
  2. [ENT] and turn the dial to switch it ON or OFF.
  3. Choose BANK-CH and enter the priority channel as xx-yy.
  4. Set the interval (1-99 seconds).
  5. [ENT] to start.

Offset Reception

For base/mobile and repeater pairs. [MENU], [ENT], VFO EDIT, then OFFSET F.. Turn the dial to a storage number: 00 = off; 01-19 = your own values; 20-39 = presets. Press [0] to toggle + or -, press [.] to select the frequency area, type MHz and [ENT], then save with VFO PARAM SET. “DUP” shows on the display.

Signal Attenuator

About 10 dB attenuation for strong signals that distort or overload the RF stage (the S-meter value doesn’t change). [MENU] > OPT > ATT > [ENT], choose ON or OFF, press [ENT] four times. “ATT” shows.

AGC

For AM signals (AM, USB, LSB, CW). [MENU], [ENT], VFO EDIT, line 9 AGC: FAST (usually CW), MID (AM broadcast), SLOW (USB/LSB) or RF-G (manual gain). Save with VFO PARAM SET.

For RF-G set the gain: [MENU] > CONF > RF-GAIN, 000-255. Manual gain helps CW, LSB and USB by reducing background noise.
