AR-DV3 Program Search, Search Banks & Groups

Summary: Searching a range with the AR-DV3 using search banks, groups and pass frequencies.

Search Banks

Register up to 40 search banks (00-39) and the receiver searches each range at its step, stopping on signals and resuming when they end. Press [SRCH], close the squelch and the search starts. Enter a two-digit bank number, or press [F] then [UP]/[DOWN] and then [F] again. The direction is changed with [UP]/[DOWN] or the dial. Exit with [VFO]. [SRCH] or [ENT] copies the contents to VFO-Z.

Registering a Search Bank (SR.PROG)

[F] then [6]. Items: bank number, L. FREQ and U. FREQ, STEP, MODE, IFBW (not for digital modes or D-AU), TITLE (dial for the cursor, keypad for characters, [UP] deletes), AMP/ATT and PROTECT (ON means changes made in search mode aren’t saved). Press [ENT] to save.

Settings that can only be made while searching (CTCSS, DCS, SCR, RTN, voice squelch, NR, DIG. DECODE, IF DIR, offset, priority) are saved into the bank too, unless PROTECT is ON, in which case they’re temporary.

Deleting a Bank

In search mode choose the bank, press [F] then [CLR] (“DEL. SRCH. BANK”), check it and press [ENT].

Search Pass

Press [PASS] on an unwanted frequency. It can hold 50 pass frequencies per bank; “PAS” shows on the display. To delete: hold [PASS], choose the bank, move down, choose the frequency and press [PASS]; or [F] then [PASS] deletes all in the bank.

Search Groups

[F] then [SRCH]: 10 groups (0-9). Set bank link (choose banks and press [PASS] to link), DELAY (default 2.0 s), FREE (default OFF), STORE (auto store to memory bank 39) and DEL. BK39. A bank that isn’t in the link list is searched as a single bank.
