AR-DV3 Digital Selective Receive & Option Menu

Summary: The AR-DV3’s code filters for digital signals and the per-channel option menu.

Selective Receive

In a digital mode, press the dial to show the selective-receive item at the bottom of the screen. Each press changes the item. Use the up/down keys to choose a digit and type the code or turn the dial; press [ENT].

  • D-CR / NXDN: ENC. CODE (15-bit scramble code, 00000-32768), WC whitening code (000-511; 000 = automatic) and RAN (Radio Access Number: OFF, or ON with 00-64). Audio plays when the code matches.
  • DMR: COLOR (colour code OFF, or ON with 0-15) and SLOT (1, 2, 1+2 for priority to slot 1, or 2+1).
  • P25: NAC (Network Access Code OFF, or ON with 000-FFF).
  • TETRA (T-TC): SLOT (AUT for automatic, or 1-4).

The scramble code is not encryption: the receiver can’t decode encrypted signals.

Option Menu

[F] then [9]. Each VFO, search bank and memory channel can have its own settings:

  • NR: noise reduction OFF, LOW, MID or HIGH.
  • DIG. DECODE: show or hide digital information (also toggled by holding the dial). Setting range ON/OFF.
  • IF DIR: NOR or REV IF direction. Use it when feeding an IF from another receiver into this unit’s antenna jack for decoding; if it won’t decode try changing it.
