DJ-X100E Set Mode Reference

Summary: Every Set mode item on the DJ-X100E with its options and initial values.

Entering Set Mode

Press [SET] on the reception screen (“SETTING” shows), turn the dial to an item, press [SET], choose the value and press [SET]. The keys 2, 4, 6 and 8 act like a cross key. [MONI] goes back.

Items and Initial Values

• Display Mode: Basic Display (default), Position Display, GPS Display.
• Antenna: SMA Antenna (default) or Earphones (the earphone cord becomes a simple antenna for strong signals such as FM broadcast or airband; use stereo earphones, since mono earphones attenuate it).
• Message Log: messages 1-3.
• Scan: Scan Speed 100 ch/s (or 50, 25); Hold Timer OFF (1-180 s); Release Timer 5 s (OFF, 1-180 s); Stop Freq VFO (or VFO(SCAN), SCAN); Manual Hold OFF; Priority Inter 5 s (1-60 s); MHz Scan Width 1.0 MHz; Freq Shift Scan OFF; MN Search OFF; VFO Scan From Previous (or Scan Selection); All Scan Set OFF.
• Skip: Program Link, Bank, Bank Link: Individual (default) or Common.
• Audio: Beep Medium (OFF, Volume Linked, Low, Medium, High); Vol Reduction OFF (FM radio); Removal Set Normal (Mute silences the speaker when earphones are unplugged); Vol Stabilize OFF (High Volume Suppression, Vol Assist Low or High, for digital audio); Bass Supp and Treble Supp OFF (Weak, Medium, Strong).
• Display: BL Timer 10 s (Always, 1-180 s); BL On Bright 10 (1-10); BL Off Bright 3 (Off, 1-9); BL USB Charge ON; BL Range All (or Screen Only); BL Trigger Operation Only (or Operation + Scan, Operation + Voice); BL Hold OFF (Scan, Voice Output); Manual BL OFF; S-Meter Set Busy Non-Linked (or Busy Linked); Message Display 10 s; Display Color: graphics and background colour (White, Blue, Green, Yellow, Red, Aqua, Fuchsia, Black or User with RGB 0-63; the same colour for both isn’t allowed).
• Position/Distance: Position System GPS (OFF, FIX); Fixed latitude/longitude; Memory Dist ON; Position Dist ON; Time zone 0.
• Operations: MONI Settings Momentary (or Alternate); Selector Acceleration OFF; Dial Selector (or Volume, Squelch); Ring Volume (or Selector, Squelch); Vol/Sql Swap OFF; Dial Vol (Lock) OFF; QR (Lock) ON; Key Lock Range Key + Selector (or All, Key, Selector); FUNC Hold Time 5 s (10, 20, 30 s, Hold).
• Power: Battery Save OFF; Auto Power Off OFF (10, 20, 30 min, 1, 2, 3, 5 h); USB Power Supply ON; USB Charge ON.
• Adjustments: S-Meter 0 (-10 to +10) and Standard Freq 0 (-100 to +100; a fine reference frequency correction that doesn’t change the display; move it only if needed).
• Status: Power Status and Device Info.

Backlight Notes

The always-on light drains the battery in about 9 hours in standby. A shorter timer and lower brightness save power. BL USB Charge keeps the light on when on USB power, and Manual BL lets [FUNC], [FUNC] turn it on and off.

Device Information

Turn the power off, then hold [MONI] while switching on to show the software, MCU, DSP and AMBE versions, memory and skip usage, and flags such as BAT SAVE, ANT EAR, GPS OFF, POS FIX, REF ADJ and SMT ADJ.

Key Lock

Hold [FUNC] to lock and again to unlock. The locked keys depend on Key Lock Range. [FUNC] and [POWER] always work; volume works through the ring and [MONI].
