DJ-X100E Memory Scans & GPS Memory

Summary: The DJ-X100E’s memory modes and memory scans, bank links, and the GPS Memory function that limits scanning to nearby channels.

Memory Modes

  • All Memory – every memory channel.
  • Bank – the channels in a chosen bank.
  • Bank Link – the channels in banks you’ve linked (register, name and initialise bank links from the Memory mode or scan type screens).
  • GPS Memory – channels within a set distance of your position.

Bank Links

Choose Bank Link, pick a link number, Add Link or Remove Link and select banks, then Start Bank Link. Name it with Bank Link Name; Initialize clears it. Bank link scans go in bank order, not the order you added them.

Memory Scans

Hold [SCAN] in Memory mode and choose one of: All Memory Scan, Bank Scan, Bank Link Scan, GPS Memory Scan, Priority Scan or Shift Scan. [MONI] pauses; [SCAN] stops. Scans need registered channels.

GPS Memory and GPS Memory Scan

The receiver calculates the distance from your position (from the built-in GPS, or a fixed position) to each channel’s stored longitude and latitude and scans only those within range. It can search again as you move.

  1. Register longitude and latitude on the channels (for example airports).
  2. Hold [SCAN], choose GPS Memory Scan.
  3. Set Search Range: 1 to 199 km (default 20 km).
  4. Set Distance to Search Again: no search, 100 m, 200 m, 300 m, 500 m, 1, 2, 3, 5, 10 (default), 20, 30, 50 or 100 km.
  5. Choose Next and the memory mode to search, and start. The display shows [GPS-SCAN] and distances.

The manual’s example: register airport towers with a 10 km range and a 20 km re-search distance, and as you travel between airports the receiver drops the old airport’s frequencies and picks up the new one’s. It won’t run if no position is available (GPS not locked and no FIX position), or if the channels have no coordinates (“No Corresponding Memory” shows when none are in range).

Priority and Shift Scans in Memory Mode

Priority scan receives memory channel 000 at regular intervals; Shift Scan alternates a channel and its shift frequency. See DJ-X100E Scanning: VFO Scans, Priority, Shift & Skip.

Skip Channels

Press [SKIP] in Memory mode to skip a channel; press again to remove it. Skips are stored in the memory data.
