SDS200E Holding, Avoids, Replay & Recording

Summary: Everyday operating tools on the SDS200E: holding, avoiding, replay and recording.

Holding

While scanning, hold on a system, department, site or channel with its soft key:

• System Hold – soft key 1
• Department Hold – soft key 2
• Site Hold – Func + soft key 2
• Channel Hold – soft key 3

If you hold on a channel in a trunked system, all enabled sites are still scanned for that channel’s activity.

Avoiding

Avoids apply to the whole Favorites List. Temporary avoids clear when you cycle power; permanent avoids must be cleared manually.

• Channel: with the channel displayed or held, press Avoid once (temporary) or twice (permanent).
• Department: press Dept (soft key 2) then Avoid once or twice.
• Site: press Func + Site (soft key 2) then quickly Avoid once (temporary) or twice (permanent). To stop avoiding, Func + Site then Avoid once.
• System: press System (soft key 1) then Avoid once or twice.

Review and clear avoids from Menu, Manage Full Database (database avoids), Manage Favorites (list avoids) and each system’s Review ID Avoids (talkgroup IDs).

Replay

While scanning, press Replay/Record. Press Channel to pause or resume, and turn the scroll control to choose recordings. The replay buffer holds 30 seconds to 4 minutes (set in Settings, Replay Options). Replay isn’t available while recording is enabled.

Recording

Press Func then Replay/Record to start or stop. It resets to Off when the scanner is switched off, and anything in the replay buffer is stored with the recording session when you start recording. Sessions can be played back, renamed or deleted under Review Recordings.
