SDS200E Managing Favorites Lists & Location Control

Summary: How to create and manage Favorites Lists on the SDS200E and how Location Control works.

Creating and Editing a List

Menu, Manage Favorites. Choose New Favorites List, or select an existing one. Options:

  • Review/Edit System – see SDS200E Programming Systems, Sites, Departments & Channels.
  • Set FL Quick Key – 0-99, or . for none. A list with no quick key is always scanned unless turned off in Select Lists to Monitor. Pressing the first digit of a two-digit key gets you closer.
  • Set FL Number Tag (0-99, or blank) and Set FL Startup Key (0-9; default all off; E/yes to enable, Menu to save).
  • Use Location Control – default Off.
  • Review Avoids (temporary avoids show reversed) and Stop All Avoiding.
  • Add Current dB Channels – adds the channels you’re currently scanning to the list, after you confirm. Avoided channels aren’t added. From the Full Database, only channels inside the set range and in the selected service types are added; from a list with Location Control on, only those inside the range and service types; with it off, only those in the selected service types.
  • Rename, Delete, Information (file size and number of systems).

Location Control

Location Control enables or disables sites and departments in a list depending on your location and range. To use it with a list you need to turn Use Location Control on and have locations programmed for the sites and departments. With it on, items without locations aren’t scanned; with it off, everything in the list is enabled regardless of range. It’s always on when scanning the full database. You don’t need a GPS if you set or select a location yourself, but a GPS is better for long journeys.
