BCD436HP/536HP Troubleshooting & Reference Tables

Summary: Troubleshooting tips, plus default band coverage, service types, weather channels, CTCSS and DCS tones and repeater offsets.

Nothing to Scan

  1. Set Your Location to scan the database.
  2. Make sure Favorites Lists are enabled in Set Scan Selection.
  3. Make sure service types are enabled for the channels you want.
  4. If Use Location Control is on, make sure locations are programmed.
  5. Check latitude and longitude signs (the manual assumes N and W for North America). Places east of Greenwich need E.
  6. Make sure systems, departments and channels aren’t avoided.
  7. Make sure the list, system, department and site quick keys are enabled.
  8. For Search with Scan, enable it in Select Lists to Monitor, the Search for menu and the custom search itself.

Scanning Interrupted

Turn off Priority Scan or change the interval; turn off Close Call Priority; turn off Weather Priority; set a longer, positive channel delay.

All Channels Out of Range

Increase your range, change your location, or turn Location Control off for the list.
