How Your Selection Feeds Exports & the Programmer

This is the part that trips people up: once your Multi-Select list has anything in it, every export button and the Programmer’s default option use the whole Multi-Select list — your current grid ticks are ignored completely while it does. There’s no way to export just what’s ticked in the grid right now if Multi-Select also has items sitting in it.

In practice, this means:

  • If you’ve been building a Multi-Select list and just want to quickly export the current search’s ticked rows instead, you need to clear the Multi-Select list first (Review Multi-Select → Remove All), otherwise your export will use the Multi-Select list, not your fresh ticks.
  • If Multi-Select is empty, exports and the Programmer automatically fall back to whatever’s currently ticked in the grid.

The Programmer’s Extra Option

The Programmer window has its own Bank Data Source dropdown, defaulting to “Currently Selected” — which follows the same Multi-Select-first priority described above (with one extra fallback: if nothing’s ticked and Multi-Select is empty, it can fall back to whichever single row you last clicked on). Unlike the export buttons, though, you can switch that dropdown away from “Currently Selected” to load an entire named category directly into the Programmer instead of relying on your current selection at all.
